MI vs RR: Mumbai Indians to face Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede

Mumbai Indians to face Rajasthan Royals, the winner of first IPL, on Match No 12 of Indian Premier League (IPL) at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. The fifth season of IPL has produced largely one-sided games in its first week, with Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargers contriving to produce a close finish on Monday in Visakhapatnam.

It will be interesting to see what kind of surface is waiting at Wankhede to greets Rajasthan Royals. If the pitch assists spin as much as it did during last match played here against Pune Warriors, Rajasthan Royals’ attack consisting of medium-pacers and spinners will be difficult to get away.

Rajasthan Royals have won both their games comfortably so far and their captain Rahul Dravid has been leading the side towards victories  Mumbai Indians, on other hand, has lost their previous game here at Wankhede against Pune Warriors India but won thier previous game against Deccan Chargers in a nail-biting battle.

In 2011 edition of Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians in both meetings. RR defeated MI at home by seven-wicket and in Mumbai by ten-wicket.

The last time when Rajasthan Royals played against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, Ajinkya Rahane, an orthodox batsman who missed his hundred by two runs against Kings XI Punjab this year and was run out for a duck against Kolkata  Knight Riders, did not get to bat in a ten-wicket win for his side.

Mumbai Indians is definately missing the experience of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who is recovering from a finger injury. Now it is very interesting to see how captain Harbhajan Singh keep his head cool during the match and how the young blood of Mumbai faces the challenges from Rajasthan Royals.
