Kevin Pietersen transfers to Delhi Daredevils

Kevin Pietersen, a top order batsman for the England cricket team, has transferred from Deccan Chargers to Delhi Daredevils for the IPL 2012 season. He is the third player to switch teams during the transfer window, following Dinesh Karthik and R Sathish.

The Head of Cricket at GMR Sports, TA Sekhar, expressed excitement about adding Pietersen to the Delhi Daredevils’ lineup, citing his rich experience and explosive qualities as a batter. Sekhar also highlighted Pietersen’s off-spinning abilities, which make him a valuable all-rounder for the team. Pietersen missed the previous season of the IPL due to a double hernia but has since recovered and is currently playing for the England cricket team in Dubai against Pakistan.

The first transfer window for IPL franchises opened on December 15, 2011 and closed on January 20, 2012. Another short transfer window followed the February 4 player auction, during which the players of Kochi Tuskers Kerala and other players were sold.
