IPL 2012 Auction. The IPL 2012 player auction will be held on February 4, 2012 at the ITC Royal Gardenia Hotel in Bengaluru, the IPL governing council has announced. The players from the suspended franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala will be part of the auction. The venue of the auction is yet to be announced.

The IPL governing council had earlier confirmed that the squad sizes for each of the franchise have been increased to 33 with eleven foreign player instead of previous limit ten. However, the governing council didn’t increased the number of playing foreign player per squad. Only four foreign players will be allowed to play. The teams will have an additional salary cap of $2 million.
The proceedings of the IPL Auction will be conducted by Richard Madley, a professional auctioneer from England who has conducted each of the previous IPL player auctions and it will begin at 11:00 am. The proceedings will be broadcast live by IPL Indian broadcaster Sony Set Max.
During the preseason IPL Transfer Window trade several players have changed teams and earlier this month BCCI has published the preliminary list of 183 players for IPL 2012 Auction. BCCI, after discussing, have dropped some players from earlier selected players and released the finalized list of players which will go under hammer on February 4, 2012.
The finalized list of players for IPL 2012 Auction features 144 players from 11 countries,including India. The list features 16 players from Australia, 19 Players from South Africa, 13 player from England, 10 player from New Zealand, 16 players from West Indies, 7 player from Zimbabwe, 18 player from Sri Lanka, two player from Ireland and one player each from Bangladesh and Netherlands. Set Max, the official broadcaster of IPL, will telecast the DLF IPL 2012 Players Auction. The DLF IPL Player Auction 2012 will commences at 10.45 am on the auction day and the preceding of the Auction began at 11 am with Brendon McCullum and he was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for $900,000. There were total 25 players sold in todays auction and as expected Ravindra Jadeja topped the auction price list with the highest bid of $2 Million from both Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Deccan Chargers, and finally it was settled in a secrete bid and won by CSK.
