Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik transferred to Mumbai Indians from Kings XI Punjab during the first transfer window in the first remarkable transfer ahead of the IPL 2012 season. Dinesh Karthik was bagged by the Mumbai Indians for an undisclosed sum. The amount was easily the highest sum paid to buy a player from another team in the history of the IPL. In exchange for Karthik, allrounder R Sathish will go to Kings XI.

It is understood that Mumbai Indians have paid around $2.35 million (Rs 12.4 crores approximately) to Kings XI pubjab in order to transfer Karthik into their squad. Kings XI had spent $900,000 (Rs 4.77 crores) on Karthik during the Jaunary 2011 auction. It’s a win win situation for Kings XI punjab.
